Honey is like lipstick
Heat not only affects the skin and hair, but also the lips. Through hot air and low humidity, the skin of the lips begins to peel off, crack … How to help?
“The skin on the lips is thinner than on other parts of the body, and also not the subcutaneous fat layer that would protect it from the inside,” explains Zhanna Prikhodko, a dermatologist of the highest category. – In summer, the skin of the lips itself loses the necessary moisture, so it begins to peel off.
In general, the poor condition of the skin of the lips indicates, first of all, a lack of vitamins (primarily A and group B), as well as certain microelements (iron, zinc, etc.). So, vitamin A can be “taken” from carrots, pumpkin, persimmons, rosehip and sea buckthorn oils, and B vitamins – from dairy products, eggs, fish, mushrooms, legumes, nuts, meat. To ensure the required level of iron in the blood, eat pomegranate, apples, parsley, buckwheat, and seafood, seeds, sprouted wheat grains are rich in zinc.
– Will any external procedures help?
– It is good to lubricate the lips with an oil solution of vitamins A and E, as well as sea buckthorn, Rosehip or olive oils. You can also offer a delicious treatment: apply oil, honey, yogurt, cream or even a thin layer of cottage cheese on your lips – you can just lick it off in 15 – 20 minutes.
And here’s another recipe against peeling lips: mix a few drops of olive oil with honey, then brush this mixture on your lips with a brush. And to moisturize and nourish the delicate skin of the lips, take a little fresh pumpkin juice and cottage cheese and mix until smooth. This mask is applied several times a day. You can also lubricate your lips with a cucumber slice.
If it comes to cracks, you will get off with honey here. Therefore, the morning on the lips is an open way for any infection. In such cases, cotton swabs with a decoction of chamomile, sage, calendula, oak bark should be applied to the lips. Aloe will become practical – the leaves are cut lengthwise and the lips are rubbed with the pulp several times a day.
If peeling and cracked lips bother you all the time, it makes sense to get tested for a fungal or bacterial infection.
– By the way, many women ask: it is necessary to wash off the remains of lipstick?
– The skin of the lips, like the skin of the eyelids, requires daily cleansing of makeup. Do this with cosmetic milk. Especially if you use the so-called long-lasting lipsticks, which are very dry on your lips. In general, try to choose a lipstick or lip gloss that contains vitamins A and E, and almond oil. And also regularly peel with the same honey – apply it a little on your lips and massage with light finger movements.
